Qualifications

• Eligible to intern in a hospital pharmacy setting.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM with every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation

The Pharmacy Intern at UnityPoint Health Meriter Hospital will staff inpatient (central) pharmacy, ambulatory (outpatient) pharmacy, and/or complete medication reconciliations (transitions of care) in an intern capacity. They will perform a variety of distributive tasks to ensure safe and efficient filling of patients' prescriptions and replenishment of medications throughout the hospital. The intern will perform clinical and administrative tasks to coordinate the medication related aspects of a patient's transition through their hospital stay. This will include fixing medication related problems including enrolling patients to fill at Meriter Outpatient Pharmacy, performing medication reconciliation, completing chart review, and counseling patients on their medications.

The intern will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist prior to graduation.
