Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking an Ambulatory Medication Access Coordinator (AMAC) for the DCAM Outpatient- Mail Order Pharmacy in Burr Ridge. You will manage third-party prior authorizations for high-cost medications, screen patients for payment sources, and help optimize reimbursement for clinics and patients.

Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $3,000. The role supports hybrid scheduling, with on-site Burr Ridge shifts after a 90-day period and Mon-Fri daytime hours, ensuring smooth coordination

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Experience in pharmacy operations or pharmacy technician role preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance/benefits verification and prior authorization processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Improve patient service and revenue through prior authorization services.
• Screen patients for payment sources and verify benefits.
• Assist enrollment in patient assistance programs with social services.
• Enter patient data into tracking forms and systems.
• Support clinic workflow by resolving insurance issues to avoid therapy interruptions.
• Provide exemplary customer service to outpatients at UChicago Medicine.
• Identify opportunities to improve reimbursement with payers and providers.
