Job summary

Nationwide-Children in Columbus, OH is seeking a Patient Registration Clerk to greet patients, register them, answer calls, schedule appointments, and pull and file medical charts as needed.

You will verify demographics and insurance information, confirm eligibility, communicate requirements, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient access. Training and teamwork are key components of this role.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • CPR certification (based on position and as determined by manager).

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients in registration areas.
  • Answer telephone calls, schedule appointments, and pull/file medical charts as indicated.
  • Verify demographics and insurance information; ensure patient eligibility and insurance requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff and other departments to ensure smooth patient access and communication.

Overview:Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pmJob Description Summary:Greets and registers patients. Answers telephone calls, schedules appointments, and pulls and files medical charts when indicated.Job Description:Essential Functions:Provides excellent customer service to patients and families by applying best practices and standard operating procedures.Interviews and registers patients in registration areas that report up through Patient Access.Obtains accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information on registrations.Screens customer data to ensure patient is eligible for insurance indicated. Communicates differences to the customer.Screens registrations to ensure insurance pre-certification and physician referral requirements are met. Instructs customer on requirements.Assists in identifying self-pay patients and referring them to financial assistance when applicable.
