Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join an ambulatory orthopedics physiatry practice in Old Saybrook, CT. The role collaborates with orthopedists and the multidisciplinary team to provide outpatient musculoskeletal care.

The schedule features four 10-hour shifts Monday–Thursday, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call duties, offering a strong work-life balance. Experienced APPs and new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Connecticut PA or APRN license or eligibility.
• Board certification or board eligibility.
• Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration and DEA registration (or eligibility).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary outpatient practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations with detailed histories and focused exams.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions in outpatient settings.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with supervising physicians and the care team.
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, rehabilitation, and prevention.
• Document encounters accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other professionals to optimize outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
