Orthopedic Associates Surgery Center LLC is seeking a Front Office Medical Assistant to join a busy orthopedic ambulatory surgery center in Rocky Hill, CT. The role supports patient flow, scheduling, and front-desk operations to ensure smooth daily procedures.

Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling in EMR, verifying benefits, and preparing charts. Requirements include a high school diploma and healthcare experience; MA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Medical Assistant certification (preferred).
• Minimum one year receptionist experience in a healthcare facility; ambulatory surgery center a plus.
• Must be dependable and punctual.
• Must be organized and able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Able to work under pressure and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones, transfer calls, and take detailed messages.
• Opening and closing procedures of the facility per shift.
• Book, cancel and reschedule surgical procedures within EMR (Amkai).
• Verify eligibility and benefits, document co-pays, gather pre-certifications/authorizations.
• Build, audit and close paper and electronic charts pre- and post-surgery.
• Provide pre-operative instructions and arrival times to patients.
• Register patients accurately with demographic and surgical info.
• Ensure timely receipt of operative/pathology reports and obtain signatures.
• Willing to perform other duties as directed.
