Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our orthopedic perioperative team in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center. The role requires maintaining a sterile field, preparing surgical supplies, and supporting surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nurses before, during, and after procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong orthopedic background, 2+ years of experience, and proficiency with instrumentation, implants, power equipment, and sterile techniques.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Surgical Technologist certification (CST) preferred, or as required by state regulations.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent orthopedic surgical experience preferred.
• Proficiency in orthopedic instrumentation, implants, power equipment, and sterile techniques.
• Must be able to independently scrub all orthopedic surgical procedures, including total joint arthroplasty cases, sports medicine procedures, fracture fixation, spine procedures, and other orthopedic specialty cases performed at the center.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Set up operating room with instruments, sterile drapes, and solutions.
• Tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.
• Prepare and manage orthopedic-specific instrumentation, implants, biologics, and power equipment.
• Ensure availability and proper handling of orthopedic implants and vendor-supplied instrumentation.
• Assist surgeons during complex orthopedic procedures by anticipating needs.
• Demonstrate expertise in orthopedic case setup, instrumentation selection, and implant management.
• Perform counts and maintain sterile technique during high-volume procedures.
• Transport patients to the operating room and position them on the table.
• Handle retractors, cut sutures, and assist with specimens for analysis.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and diagnostic equipment.
• Post-operation, transfer patients to recovery and restock the operating room.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
