Job summary

Surgicare of South Austin is seeking an Operating Room Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center. You will contribute your expertise in circulating or scrub roles, overseeing instrument setup and ensuring safe, efficient care until transfer to recovery.

The role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, an active RN license, BCLS certification, ACLS, and CNOR/PALS preferences. We offer comprehensive benefits and a supportive environment as part of HCA Healthcare.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment.
• ACLS as required by facility.
• PALS is preferred, but may be required at some facilities.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrument and equipment set-up for the OR, including preference cards and anticipating surgeons' needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate efficient transition between surgical procedures.
• Use proper body mechanics in moving patients to stretchers and OR tables.
• Manage patient care and medications, including assistance with anesthesia.
• Review charts for completeness per documentation protocols before and after procedures.
