Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultation, in inpatient or outpatient settings under Texas Nurse Practice Act.

The NP will collaborate with physicians and an interprofessional team, conduct physicals, order tests, prescribe medications as appropriate, and contribute to education on preventative care and treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing and graduate NP program from an accredited school.
• Two years of RN or NP clinical experience.
• Texas RN license with permanent license within 60 days (if establishing residency).
• APRN Non-Acute Care state license and ANCC NP certification.
• BLS certification; Prescriptive Authority license; DEA license within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnosis, treatment, and consultation as part of a care team.
• Conduct health assessments and clinical decision-making under Texas Nurse Practice Act.
• Order tests, prescribe medications as appropriate, and educate patients on care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate patient care.
