Job summary

Kansas Health System seeks an Ambulatory Nursing Associate to support patient flow across Creekwood Family Care, Grand Blvd Health Care, KU MedWest and Medical Pavilion. You will prepare patients for visits, assist with procedures, and help schedule tests while delivering courteous, culturally sensitive care.

Seeking PRN candidates for evenings and some weekends/holidays; urgent care hours 07 am–9 pm on weekdays and 8 am–4 pm on weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

High school graduate required.
Enrolled in accredited nursing program to obtain BSN; enrollment verified prior to hire.

Responsibilities

Perform professional, clinical and technical competencies of the unit.
Schedule radiology tests; obtain films/reports; prepare lab specimens according to policy.
Assist physicians/nurses with procedures per competency checklist.
Collaborate with the health care team to coordinate patient care; may record patient history.
Ensure data for completed procedures is recorded in medical records.
Maintain medical records; document and distribute reports; file charts.
Keep examination rooms clean and stocked; monitor supplies and logs.
Perform clerical duties: greet patients, registration, scheduling, pre-certification, insurance forms, etc.
Perform simple procedures as directed and document vital signs/screenings.
Acknowledge that duties may vary by department; other tasks may be assigned.
