Advocate Health in Elgin is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in the Family Medicine department. You will help transition patients from outside to the provider's office and perform vital clinical tasks in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include taking medical histories, measuring vital signs, administering vaccines and medications, documenting in the electronic health record, collecting specimens, and coordinating care with the care team.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of medical assistant experience in the last five years.
• Strong communication and computer keyboard skills.
• Familiarity with ambulatory care equipment.
• Current AHA CPR certification.
• Ability to travel locally to multiple sites as needed.
• Ability to work in stressful conditions and adapt.
• Flexible, cooperative, able to rotate shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds with assistance when needed.

Responsabilidades

• Assist physicians and clinicians with clinical duties including taking histories and assisting in examinations.
• Act as liaison between patients, physicians and clinicians.
• Measure patient’s vital signs.
• Prepare and administer vaccines/medications.
• Document patient information into the electronic health record.
• Collect specimens for testing.
