Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year experience in ambulatory care; externship preferred.
• Cardiology: 6 months of ambulatory care experience or related degree preferred.
• CMA or RMA certification within 1 year required
• CPR certification within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient preparation for examination and minor procedures.
• Support clinical care team and maintain patient flow; backup for Patient Services Coordinator as needed.
• Participate in daily team huddles and screen patients for preventive care needs.
• Document activities accurately in the EMR and manage tests/specimens.
• Provide escort and assist with patient discharge activities; maintain infection control.
