Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in McHenry is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses, manage patient flow, and perform clinical and administrative tasks. The position requires travel to the Huntley clinic as needed, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The role involves preparing exam rooms, assisting with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and daily inventory, while ensuring patient confidentiality and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification eligibility within six months for CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA.
• BLS/CPR certification required or in progress.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow by preparing exam rooms and assisting providers.
• Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and specimen collection per protocols.
• Maintain sterile exam rooms and inventory; monitor vaccines/medications and dispose of expired items.
• Promote patient satisfaction by professional communication and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
