Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year experience in ambulatory care; externship preferred; externship may substitute for experience.
• Cardiology offices: 6 months experience in ambulatory care or related degree preferred.
• Prior experience as a medical assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient preparation for examination and minor procedures.
• Support team with patient flow and clerical tasks, including documentation in EMR.
• Perform point-of-care testing and basic lab procedures as required.
• Document activities in EMR and coordinate follow-up and referrals.
• Attend safety, infection control, OSHA and CLIA trainings and meetings.
