Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant certification program required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant training program or 3 years of related MA experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, handle registration and check-in, schedule appointments, obtain referrals and authorizations, and complete the patient discharge process.
• Perform pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient records and communicating point-of-care reminders through the EMR.
• Obtain and document vital signs, allergies, medications, medical history, and other required information in the EMR.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures, vaccinate, and perform point-of-care testing per protocol.
• Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure HIPAA privacy and security throughout patient interactions.
