Job summary

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a nonexempt Medical Assistant to support physicians, providers and nurses in multiple ambulatory settings. The role focuses on patient greeting, vitals, documentation in EMR, and coordinating care with a strong emphasis on service quality and timely communication.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of medical facility experience, EKG and venipuncture skills, and proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical facility as a medical assistant or externship completed in a medical office.
• EKG, vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrated performance of excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests using AIDET; provide excellent service and support.
• Perform administrative duties in ambulatory settings, including vitals, documentation, and coordination of care.
• Enter data and manage communications in the EMR, including MyChart messaging and orders.
• May assist with appointment scheduling, patient outreach, and coordinating care across the healthcare continuum.
