The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Ambulatory Float Pool in the Medical Pavilion to support efficient patient flow, prepare exams, perform limited procedures, and coordinate tests.

This full-time role emphasizes teamwork, accurate record-keeping, and strong customer service, with BLS and completion of accredited MA program preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program OR at least 3 years of related job experience.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Schedules tests, obtains films/reports, and prepares lab specimens.
• Assists physicians/nurses with procedures per competency checklist.
• Coordinates patient care with the health care team and records patient history elements.
• Submits prescriptions/refills to outpatient pharmacies; maintains medical records and forms.
• Maintains exam room cleanliness, stocks supplies, and logs equipment checks.
• Performs clerical duties: greeting, registration, scheduling, pre-certification, referrals, and billing prep.
