Job summary

Harris Health System, Inc. is hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide patient care and education in ambulatory clinics under supervision. The LVN will use the nursing process to meet physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs and coordinate care within the LVN scope.

The role requires Texas LVN licensure and AHA-accredited BLS, with preferred experience in a specialty area and strong verbal communication skills. Weekend, holiday, on-call duties and a flexible schedule are included.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Texas.
• BLS from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
• Other certificates as required by unit/service.
• Experience in area of specialty preferred.
• Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
• Analytical; Medical Terms; PC
• Work Schedule: Weekends; Holidays; Flexible; Overtime; On Call

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and education for patients in ambulatory clinics/areas under direct supervision of the RN, ARNP, PA, physician, dentist or podiatrist.
• Coordinate care between healthcare team members to optimize patient understanding of their condition and care requirements within LVN scope of practice.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Current Texas LVN licensure

Basic Life Support (AHA hospital-based)

Other certificates as required by unit/service
