Job summary

The LVN uses the nursing process to meet physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs and coordinates care with the healthcare team to support patients’ understanding of their condition. Required: graduation from an accredited school of nursing; current Texas LVN license; Basic Life Support from hospital-based AHA; and other

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas; Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program; Other certificates as required by unit/service.
• Experience in area of specialty preferred.
• Equipment Operating: Computer, IV pumps, vital signs monitor, other unit-specific medical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and education in ambulatory clinics under supervision of the RN/physician.
• Use the nursing process to meet physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs.
• Coordinate care among healthcare team to optimize patient understanding of condition and care requirements.
