Job summary

Harris Health in Texas seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide patient care and education in ambulatory clinics under supervision. The LVN uses the nursing process to meet physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs and coordinates care with the health team.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, Texas LVN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime and on-call. Experience in the unit is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
• Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
• Other Certificates As Required By Unit/service.
• Work Experience: Experience in area of specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and education for patients in ambulatory clinics under direct supervision.
• Utilize the nursing process to meet physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs.
• Coordinate care between members of the healthcare team to optimize the patient’s understanding of their condition.
