Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver nursing care across pediatrics to elderly patients within ambulatory practices. Under supervision of an RN or MD, the LPN conducts health teaching, screening, and care within scope, maintains documentation, and supports quality improvement initiatives.

The role requires NYS LPN licensure, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification with strong English communication skills. On-site, day shift.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED required.
• One year of related work experience.
• NYS LPN license required.
• Licensed and registered as a Practical Nurse in New York State.
• Basic Life Support.
• Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.
• Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval system.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/family teaching and discharge instructions.
• Set priorities and use good judgment in non-emergent situations.
• Document direct patient care per MMC policies.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment using the autoclave.
• Order and maintain medications and supplies to par level.
• Collect and label specimens and maintain relevant logs.
• Greet patients and prepare exam rooms for visits.
