Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse for our ambulatory plastic surgery clinic in Topeka, KS. The role supports patient visits, checks in, assists with procedures and administers medications under physician supervision.

You will triage calls, coordinate services, educate patients, and document in the EMR. A KS LPN license and BLS are required or obtained within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Kansas.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Clinic setting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
• Ability to document clearly in EMR and communicate with team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with check-in, examinations and procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments; clarify orders.
• Triage patient calls and evaluate health status.
• Coordinate labs, imaging, referrals and home care as needed.
• Provide patient education on medications, tests, and procedures.
• Document medical information using EMR and forms.
• Ensure patient rooms are safe and well-stocked; address hazards.
• Participate in Patient Safety Rounds and safety communications.
