Job summary

CoxHealth in Springfield, MO is seeking a Medical Assistant III/LPN to support clinical staff in an ambulatory clinic setting. You will perform administrative duties and assist with patient care.

You will answer phones, schedule appointments, enter data in medical records, measure vital signs, review medications, prepare patients for examination, and assist with room preparation and supplies. Administration of medications per physician orders is included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Graduation from or completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and a clinical externship.
• Certification or registration from a CoxHealth approved program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and data entry in medical records.
• Measure and record vital signs, collect demographics and medication information for review.
• Prepare patients for examination, clean rooms and equipment, stock supplies.
• Administer medications as ordered by the physician.
