Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care at UNC Health Orthopedics in Southeast Health Park, Lumberton, NC. You will implement the plan of care, monitor patient responses, and collaborate with the care team to meet patient needs.

The role is full-time (36 hours/week) with a day schedule, onsite work, and a pay range of $21.62–$31.07 per hour. NC Health pay is determined by experience and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education.
• Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in North Carolina; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per plan of care and physician orders.
• Observe and document patient responses to therapies; communicate data to the MD or RN.
• Participate in unit/department activities and CQI initiatives.
• Administer medications and perform routine procedures as directed; monitor devices and IVs.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide support and de-escalate distressed patients; assist with coping strategies.
