Job summary

Berkshire Health Systems seeks a Medical Director of Ambulatory Informatics who will split clinical practice (2–3 days/week) with leadership duties to transform outpatient care across primary care and specialties in Western Massachusetts.

The role partners with the CMIO, CIO, and medical leadership to leverage data and technology, enhance EHR workflows, and drive evidence-based care; strong communication and team leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with active board certification.
• Current ambulatory clinical practice 2–3 days per week.
• Experience in medical informatics or healthcare technology management.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the ambulatory informatics strategy with IT and Medical Group leadership.
• Lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHR workflows, decision support, order sets, and clinical pathways.
• Identify efficiency gaps in clinics and standardize processes with evidence-based solutions.
• Serve as principal clinical advisor on technology projects and ensure regulatory alignment.
• Organize informatics training for new providers and ongoing education for clinicians and staff.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams of analysts and informaticists.
• Represent ambulatory needs to Meditech and other vendors.
