Job summary

University of Iowa HealthCare—Iowa River Landing—seeks an 80% to 100% Float Staff Nurse to support Urology, Allergy, Pulmonary, Internal Medicine, Diabetes, and Podiatry clinics. Responsibilities include assessing patient care needs, evaluating care effectiveness, and ensuring standards are met.

Responsibilities also include telephone triage, patient advocacy, and supporting in-clinic procedures such as vaccines and rooming.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Experience working in an ambulatory clinic setting is desirable.
• Experience working with EPIC is desirable.
• Triage experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ nursing care needs and evaluate effectiveness of care provided.
• Provide care according to nursing theory and ensure patient care standards are met.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality and act as patient advocate.
• Perform telephone triage.
• Support direct patient care including rooming, vaccines, and assisting with in-clinic procedures.
