Job summary

CaroMont Health is seeking an Ambulatory Coding Education & Audit Specialist responsible for coding and auditing medical records related to ICD-10-CM, CPT, and E&M coding. The ideal candidate will train and educate coding staff and promote teamwork across departments.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience and knowledge of coding classification systems. Applicants should be adaptable and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Requires at least one of these certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CCS-H, CPC, or CPMA.
• Knowledge of performance improvement and teaching/learning principles helpful.
• Familiarity with medical record documentation requirements a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform diversified coding and auditing of medical records.
• Train and educate coding staff on procedures and guideline changes.
• Research coding guidelines for understanding claim edits and denials.

Education

Bachelor's degree with 2 years coding/auditing experience

Associate's degree with 3–4 years coding/auditing experience
