Job summary

Orlando Health Physician Associates in St. Cloud, FL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform patient care under the direction of physicians or Advanced Practice Providers in an ambulatory setting.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience preferred, a high school diploma or equivalent, and active BLS certification. Medical Assistant training or verifiable work experience is required, with multiple national certifications encouraged. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one year of verifiable and applicable work experience as a Medical Assistant in a patient care setting).
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains current certification or registration by one of the listed agencies (CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA, NRCAMA, RMA, ARMA, AAH) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Embraces and participates in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and clinical outcome process improvement activities.
• Supports and demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients and family members.
• Works collaboratively with the administrative and operations staff.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills as defined by the practice.
• Documents patient data, treatments, procedures, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department‑specific policies.
