Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) supervisor for ambulatory operations. The role focuses on directing clinical support staff, coordinating patient care, and optimizing workflows in a busy outpatient setting.

The position requires 5+ years of LPN experience in a medical office, strong leadership and communication skills, and proficiency with computer software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of medical office LPN experience.
• Demonstrated Leadership experience.
• Coordinate and organize multiple functions and activities in an ambulatory setting.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management, patients, and staff.
• Excellent organizational and analytical/problem-solving skills.
• Must be proficient in relevant computer software.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise assigned personnel, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.
• Monitors workflow and productivity; ensure proper staffing of clinical support staff.
• Direct patient care activities; assess patient flow and documentation in the medical records.
• Develop and implement educational plans for patients/families.
• Address phone encounters and ensure thorough intake for providers.
• Mentor/role model to clinic staff regarding information gathering during phone encounters.
