Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive patient care under the supervision of the Clinic Administrator or Physician. Responsibilities

• Is responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Brown University Health Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
• Provides nursing care to patients under the supervision of the Clinical Manager.
• Implements and coordinates the steps of the nursing process assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, prescription, intervention and evaluation.
• Delegates, supervises and coordinates nursing care activities provided by personnel assigned to assist in the provision of nursing care.
• Implements the prescribed medical regimen, evaluates the patient response to the regimen and advises the physician of changes in the patient’s condition.
• Participates in clinic and departmental level collaborative activities such as joint case presentations, grand rounds.
• Collaborates with the patient, family, physician, nurses and other health team members to integrate and evaluate the plan of care.
• Provides and documents teaching for patients and families related to management of health problems, health promotion and rehabilitation.
• Updates knowledge and participates in the incorporation of new clinical nursing practices.
• Participates in educational activities commensurate with learning needs and individual ability.
