Job summary

Superior Ambulance Service, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair a mixed EMS fleet of gas and diesel vehicles across a large private operation.

The role requires diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems, and performing routine maintenance to keep our fleet mission-ready. Candidates should provide their own tools, be able to lift up to 75 lbs, and demonstrate independent work habits while collaborating with a team.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of gas and diesel engines and related components.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components including switches and circuits.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
  • Experience with emergency lighting and sirens is a plus.
  • Motivated, self-starter who can work independently.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Able to lift and carry items up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance to improve vehicle functionality and longevity.
  • Document parts usage, repair times, and repairs performed.
  • Communicate needed repairs or tasks to manager.
  • Maintain a safe work station; perform other duties as assigned.
