Job summary

Halifax County Government in North Carolina seeks an EMT-Basic ambulance attendant to drive an ambulance, rescue or transport patients, and provide basic emergency medical care. You will gather medical histories and relay them to physicians or hospital staff, and assist Paramedics and Advanced EMTs in the field.

A 24-hour shift is required. Required: high school diploma or equivalent, EMT course through NC EMS, valid NC driver’s license, and the ability to obtain EMT-B certification; experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus EMT course from NC Office of EMS.
• Prefer applicants with at least 6 months of emergency medical care experience and training.
• Must possess an appropriate NC driver’s license and the ability to obtain EMT-B certification in NC.
• Position requires a 24-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Drive ambulance to rescue or transport sick or injured patients.
• Administer basic emergency medical care.
• Gather patient medical history and relay to doctor or hospital staff.
• Assist Paramedic and Advanced EMT during operations.
• Perform related tasks as required.
