MedEx Ambulance Service Inc. in Skokie, IL, seeks an experienced Ambulance Billing and Coding Specialist to support our EMS revenue cycle with accurate claim submission and coding review.

You will verify insurance, handle denials, stay compliant with Medicare/Medicaid/HIPAA, and collaborate with billing, coding, and operations to improve cash flow. Candidates typically have 2+ years EMS billing or CAC certification; EMT/Paramedic background is also considered; proficiency in HCPCS and ICD-10

Formación

• Minimum of 2 years ambulance coding or EMS billing experience or CAC with EMT/Paramedic deemed acceptable.
• Strong knowledge of HCPCS and ICD-10 coding for ambulance services.
• Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing guidelines and HIPAA compliance.

Responsabilidades

• Research and review information to complete accurate ambulance billing, including codes.
• Prioritize workflow for timely claim submission and reimbursement.
• Review claims for completeness and compliance prior to submission.
• Analyze and resolve complex denial and reimbursement issues.
• Verify insurance coverage, authorizations, and benefits eligibility.
• Maintain knowledge of ambulance billing guidelines and policies.
• Identify documentation trends and quality concerns for leadership.
• Collaborate with billing, coding, dispatch, and operations teams as needed.
• Support revenue cycle management process improvements and AR follow-up.
