Job summary

City of North Augusta is seeking a full-time parking enforcement officer to tag illegally parked vehicles and patrol routes on foot. The role requires walking extended distances, reading signs, and providing clear directions to the public.

Daily tasks include using handheld devices for tickets and photos, reporting meter issues, and coordinating towing or booting for violators. Flexible shifts and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of parking regulations.
• Moderate knowledge of the geography of Riverside Village.
• Ability to walk for long periods (8–14 miles daily).
• Ability to read and understand signs.
• Ability to complete work assignments and directives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Tag illegally parked vehicles using the handheld ticket device.
• Patrol streets and lots on foot for long periods (up to 8 hours).
• Identify improperly parked vehicles.
• Provide excellent customer service to the public.
• Initiate towing or booting procedures for scofflaw vehicles.
• Call in bootable vehicles.
• Use handheld device to take photos for the process.
• Check meters and report broken, vandalized, or missing meters.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Walk assigned route promptly and efficiently.
• Perform related duties as required.

Job Details: Job Location: City of North Augusta - North Augusta, SC 29841, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $22.00 - $22.00 Hourly, Job Shift: Any, This positionis responsible forthe tagging of illegally parked vehicles during daily patrols of assigned routes. While on patrol, employees act as anAmbassadorandassistthe public in various situations such as giving directions and helping to inform drivers of where they can and cannot park. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Must use assignedhand heldticket writing device and printer.
• Patrolsstreets and lots on footthereforemust be able to walk and be on foot for a period of at least 8 hours.
• Identifiesimproperly parked vehicles.
• Provide excellent customer service togeneralpublic.
• Initiateprocedurefor having scofflaw vehicles towed or booted.
• Call in bootable vehicles.
• Utilize thehand helddevice to take photos as part of the process.
• Checks meters for proper functioning and reports broken, vandalized or missing meters.
• May work various shifts, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Walk assigned routein a timely manner
