Job Overview

Under general supervision, provides the restaurant and kitchen with clean and sanitary ware.

Responsibilities

1. Gather all dirty dishware from tubs, rinse, and stack in dishracks, clearing leftovers and trash.
2. Load dishracks onto the belt, ensuring correct placement, and operate the automatic dishwashing machine as instructed.
3. Load dishwashing solutions into dispensers and regulate detergent and chemical output.
4. Unload clean dishes, inspect for cleanliness, and store appropriately for easy access.
5. Manually scrub pots, pans, and equipment that cannot be washed automatically, then dry and store properly.
6. Polish silver, stainless steel, and pewter items to present clean, attractive equipment.
7. Maintain dishwashing equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
8. Keep the dish room clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
9. Clean kitchen floors and surfaces regularly, including walls, ceilings, and vents.
10. Empty trash cans into outside trash compactor at shift end.
11. Sweep loading dock and kitchen entrance areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands

• Ability to see minute objects at arm’s length, read meters and controls.
• Ability to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach, and retrieve items from above head.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs., including trays, carts, and small equipment.
• Ability to stand and travel up to 300 feet throughout the shift.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in noisy, crowded environments.
• Handle fragile items carefully to minimize breakage.

Environment

Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying in a predominantly indoor environment, with occasional exposure to freezer temperatures of -10°F.
