Job summary

Valencia Hotel Group is seeking a friendly Restaurant Server for Cavalry Court in College Station, TX. You will greet guests, take orders, pour drinks, and help create a memorable dining experience in a hotel setting.

The position is full-time/part-time with flexible shifts. Prior serving experience is helpful but not required; English fluency and Food Handlers plus TABC certificates are required to work in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in serving is preferred but not required.
• Excellent oral communication skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a professional phone manner are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dining areas by setting tables, napkins, utensils, and condiments.
• Take accurate orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff.
• Recommend menu items and wine pairings when appropriate.
• Ensure guests are greeted warmly and seated promptly.
• Serve food and beverages in a timely, friendly manner.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and address service issues quickly.
• Clean tables, reset for the next party, and maintain a tidy dining area.
• Adhere to sanitation and safety policies, including alcohol service rules.
• Assist with closing duties and replenishing service areas.
• Support teammates during busy service periods and events.

JOB SUMMARY:

Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive Guest interactions while serving Guests in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our customers have exceptional dining experiences. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our Guests’ needs, making them feel welcome and comfortable.

Physical abilities:

• Sitting: Occasionally. Sitting in a backed chair when doing paperwork
• Standing/Walking: Frequently. Walking up to three miles per day on cement, asphalt, tile, and carpet.
• Crouching (Bend at knees): Occasionally. Inspecting rooms.
• Handling /Grasping: Frequently. Performing inventories and handling documents.
• Climbing: Frequently. Climb stairs.
• Reaching (Overhead/extension): Occasionally. Inspecting rooms.
• Pushing/Pulling: Average weight occasionally 10 lbs. Maximum weight occasionally 30 lbs.
• Lifting/Carrying: Average weight frequently 10 lbs. Maximum weight occasionally 50 lbs.

Working Environment:

• All interior areas of the hotel.
• Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals in a controlled environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils
• Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
• Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
• Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
• Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
• Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Provide welcoming phone greeting and following Guest ordering procedures.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by management or supervisors.
• Assist with special events as needed
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
