Job summary

Sundance Mountain Resort in Utah seeks an AM Public Areas Attendant to keep all public spaces clean and inviting. The role starts early in the day on a 6:00 AM shift, with part-time year‑round or full‑time/part‑time seasonal options.

You will assist housekeeping, check in/out radios, and maintain public areas with attention to detail. Responsibilities include cleaning floors and surfaces, restocking supplies, and upholding safety and sustainability practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly; up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license as required.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Use of a 2-way radio frequently required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains resort premises in a clean and orderly manner according to standards.
  • Check in/out keys and radios from the safety office.
  • Maintain public areas, bathrooms, and meeting spaces daily.
  • Clean carpets, windowsills, baseboards, and other surfaces as needed.
  • Restock supplies and report any damaged equipment.
  • Uphold sustainability practices and safety guidelines.
  • Communicate with supervisors via radio and keep closets organized.

Job description

Shift: Variable Shifts Monday – Sunday – 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (5 day work week). Part‑time year round or full‑time/part‑time seasonal, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM (2–4 shifts/week).

Job Title: AM PUBLIC AREAS ATTENDANT

Department: Housekeeping

Rate of Pay: From $18.00/Hour

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt/Hourly

Summary

Creates a sense of arrival in all public spaces. Maintains Sundance Resort public areas premises in a clean and orderly manner according to Sundance standards. Assist housekeeping department as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains resort premises in a clean and orderly manner according to standards.
  • Responsible for checking in and out keys and radios from the safety office.
  • Checks in and out the Sundance vehicle to carry out daily duties ensuring cleanliness and follows Sundance safety vehicle guidelines.
  • Scrubs, waxes, and vacuums floors; shakes out rugs and spot‑clean carpets.
  • Washes baseboards, windowsills, doors, panels, and woodwork.
  • Empties wastebaskets and transports trash to disposal area.
  • Upholds sustainability practices, including mindful water and energy use, recycling, and minimizing waste.
  • Responsible for upkeep of public area bathrooms through replenishing toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, etc., and daily cleaning of toilets, urinals, walls, sinks, counters, and floors in all public Inn restrooms.
  • Keeps housekeeping closets clean and always stocked.
  • Removes all trash from the public area closets at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains all meeting/conference room spaces through sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting daily.
  • Maintains the living room space and guest dining areas by clearing trash and/or dishes, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and dusting daily.
  • Maintains the health and wellness center, locker room, changing areas, staging areas, and boot room by sanitizing equipment, restocking towels and water, clearing trash, sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting daily.
  • Maintains motorcycle cleanliness by disinfecting and inspecting for damage daily.
  • Reviews Daily Events Report each morning to establish priorities for cleaning meeting space prior to event.
  • Inspects areas and reports anything broken, damaged, or faulty equipment to supervisor and/or maintenance.
  • Keeps radio on to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Follows Sundance Housekeeping protocols for cleanliness and safety.
  • Immediately turns in all lost and found items to supervisor.
  • Reports any suspicious activities to safety and supervisor or front desk.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to cleanliness standards and responds positively to feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Shares the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises.
Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Previous housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of carpet shampoo and window washing a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Excellent communication and guest‑service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Use of a 2‑way radio is frequently required.
  • Valid U.S. drivers' license in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
