Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach is seeking a Line Cook for a part-time shift in the hotel kitchen. You will prepare menu items, train line cooks, and maintain cleanliness and organization across the line. Apply strong teamwork to deliver quality guest experiences while working varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Candidates should have 5 years of line cook experience in hotel, resort, or restaurant settings and be able to work all stations on the line.

• 5 years' experience as a Line Cook at a hotel/resort or restaurant.
• Ability to work all stations on the line.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.
• May be required to work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Team player with guests in mind.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides.
• Directs, trains, and monitors performance of Line Cooks; maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
• Prepare and assign production and prep work for Line Cooks to complete; review priorities.
• Communicate additions or changes to assignments as they arise during shift.
• Set up workstation with mis en place, tools, equipment and supplies; break down stations and perform closing duties.
• Inform Sous Chef of supplies to requisition for the day.

What you will be doing

• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides.
• Directs, trains, and monitors performance of Line Cooks. Maintains organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Prepare and assign production and prep work for Line Cooks to complete; review priorities.
• Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift.
• Set up work station with required mis en place, tools, equipment and supplies. Breakdown work stations and complete closing duties at the end of last shift of the day.
• Inform the Sous Chef of any supplies that need to be requisitioned for the day's tasks.
• Hire wage: $16.00/hour
