Job summary

Daily's Premium Meats LLC in Utah is seeking a Maintenance Lead to provide day-to-day leadership of maintenance staff and support the Department Supervisor in achieving safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

The role requires hands-on expertise in building and grounds maintenance, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance in a fast-paced, cold production setting. English fluency is required; Spanish skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and grounds maintenance.
• Food or medical plant experience preferred.
• Electrical experience (480/110/low voltage) - PLC/VFD knowledge a plus.
• Ammonia Refrigeration experience a plus.
• Able to speak, read and write in English a must; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Able to read blueprints and electrical diagrams.
• Experience in performing preventative maintenance.
• Experience in a fast-paced, cold, wet production environment.
• Able to interface well with production line workers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and hold others accountable.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with day-to-day leadership and management of maintenance employees.
• In absence of Maintenance Supervisor, direct, instruct and provide feedback to employees.
• Assist Supervisor to ensure new hires are trained properly and existing employees perform safely and with quality.
• Coordinate new employee activities and training relative to shift.
• Record employee hours and notify Maintenance Manager of concerns in absence of Supervisor.
• Perform all duties of Maintenance Techs and assign additional work as needed.
• Supervise employees under the Supervisor and follow policies and laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Maintenance Lead Maintenance lead will provide day-to-day assistance to Department Supervisor with the leadership and management of shift employees. As lead will assist in establishing means and methods to insure all employees perform job functions correctly and safely and ensure department expectations are met with adherence to company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

• Adhere to all safety procedures and hold others accountable.
• Must be able to successfully work alongside and with other maintenance techs.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with the day-to-day leadership and management of maintenance employees within the department.
• In absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, will direct, instruct and provide feedback to employees including communicating any changes in policies or procedures as needed.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all new hires are trained properly and existing employees perform their jobs safely, correctly, and with the highest level of quality and ability.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate all new employee activities and training relative to shift.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor to follow up with staff and on daily processes when and where assigned.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in performing personnel administration for paperwork, planning, and workflow analysis.
• In the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, record employee hours, attendance, and notify Maintenance Manager of any concerns.
• Performs all other tasks and responsibilities required of Maintenance Techs.
• Will assign additional work to each Maintenance Tech as needed for the business.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but sometimes very loud.

WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work Schedule is a 2-2-3, 12-hour shift per day.
