Daily's Premium Meats in Utah seeks a Maintenance Lead to support the Department Supervisor with leadership of maintenance staff in a fast-paced meat processing facility.

You will ensure safety, coordinate preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and guide new hires. English proficiency required; Spanish skills a plus. This on-site role involves a 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule and emphasizes reliability, quality, and teamwork in production.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or processing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schedules.
• Strong electrical knowledge including PLC/VFD systems is preferred.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance technicians and assist the Supervisor with daily operations.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and staff are trained in policies.
• Coordinate shift activities and communicate policy changes as needed.
• Record attendance and hours when supervisor is unavailable; manage personnel admin tasks.

Maintenance Lead

Maintenance lead will provide day-to-day assistance to Department Supervisor with the leadership and management of shift employees. As lead will assist in establishing means and methods to insure all employees perform job functions correctly and safely and ensure department expectations are met with adherence to company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to the following:

• Adhere to all safety procedures and hold others accountable.
• Must be able to successfully work alongside and with other maintenance techs.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with the day-to-day leadership and management of maintenance employees within the department.
• In absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, will direct, instruct and provide feedback to employees including communicating any changes in policies or procedures as needed.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all new hires are trained properly and existing employees perform their jobs safely, correctly, and with the highest level of quality and ability.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate all new employee activities and training relative to shift.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor to follow up with staff and on daily processes when and where assigned.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in performing personnel administration for paperwork, planning, and workflow analysis.
• In the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, record employee hours, attendance, and notify Maintenance Manager of any concerns.
• Performs all other tasks and responsibilities required of Maintenance Techs.
• Will assign additional work to each Maintenance Tech as needed for the business.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

• Basic hydraulics/pneumatics experience
• Building and grounds maintenance experience
• Food or Medical plant experience is preferred.
• Electrical experience (480/110/low voltage) - PLC/VFD knowledge is a plus.
• Ammonia Refrigeration experience is a plus.
• Able to speak, read and write in English a must.
• Bilingual skills a plus - English/Spanish.
• Able to read and follow blueprints and electrical diagrams.
• Experience in performing preventative maintenance.
• Experience in a fast-paced, cold, wet production environment
• Able to interface well with production line workers and supervisors.
• Able to speak, read and write in English a must. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• This position is physically demanding and sometimes you must get into tight places.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but sometimes very loud.

WORK SCHEDULE:

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work Schedule is a 2-2-3, 12-hour shift per day.
