Job summary

Evergreen Crossings Retirement Community is seeking an AM Cook to start each day with great food and energy. In a scratch-based kitchen, you’ll prepare a variety of foods, ensure plates are high quality and tailored to residents’ portions.

You’ll build positive relationships with residents and team members, contributing to a warm, community-focused dining experience. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and presentation, with opportunities to contribute ideas during service and daily shift

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, speak and understand basic English.
• Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is preferred.
• Ability to secure food handler permits within two weeks of first day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes by cooking a wide variety of proteins and vegetables and ensure plates look appealing.
• Engage in continuous improvement by contributing ideas during meetings and staying open to feedback.
• Complete opening and closing tasks and support teammates to maintain a clean, safe kitchen.
• Keep stations stocked and organized, refreshing pantry items and monitoring refrigeration.
• Ensure a sanitary kitchen by cleaning work areas and recording temperatures.
