Our programs are designed to provide clients with the skills, support, and long-term guidance needed to achieve sustainable career growth and economic independence.

About the Department and Role

This role will work closely with graduates of JobTrain programs to provide career coaching, mentorship, workforce navigation, education pathway planning, and ongoing support designed to help participants achieve long-term career success and economic self-sufficiency.

This role combines participant-centered coaching, alumni engagement, program development, outreach, workshop facilitation, community-building, data tracking, and partnership coordination.

The position reports to the Manager of Career Development and works collaboratively with Career Development, Employer Engagement, Impact, Training, and Workforce Development teams.

About the Mobility Mentor Program

JobTrain’s Mobility Mentor Program is rooted in the belief that workforce development extends beyond initial job placement and should support long-term career advancement and economic mobility.

Mobility Mentoring is defined as the professional practice of partnering with participants so that, over time, they may acquire the resources, skills, and sustained behavior changes necessary to attain and preserve economic independence.

The program utilizes the EMPath Mobility Mentoring framework, which combines coaching, goal setting, participant-driven planning, and recognition strategies to support long-term advancement outcomes.

The model includes four core components:

Coaching for Economic Mobility

Mobility Mentors provide participant-centered coaching designed to strengthen decision-making, persistence, accountability, and resilience over time.

Economic Mobility Bridge®

The Economic Mobility Bridge® serves as a framework and assessment tool that helps participants identify goals and map pathways toward economic self-sufficiency.

Goal Setting

Participants lead the goal-setting process while mentors provide accountability, encouragement, support, and resource navigation.
