As a Part-Time Alumni/Foundation Communications Specialist with our Vincennes University team, you will dive headfirst into the heart of our community to uncover, interview, and craft the powerful stories that inspire philanthropic giving and ignite alumni pride.
Storytelling & Content Creation: Research, interview, and write inspiring profiles and feature stories about alumni, donors, and key stakeholders.
Multi-Platform Writing: Draft engaging content for various mediums, including long-form features, short-form digital publishing, news releases, and promotional articles.
Team Collaboration: Partner with VUFAA team members and External Relations to align content with marketing, engagement, and fundraising initiatives.
Event Coverage: Attend and cover VUFAA events to capture stories, updates, and media for promotional use.
Alumni Relations Support: Assist Alumni Engagement with daily outreach efforts and projects.
Other Duties: Handle additional tasks and duties as assigned to support the department's mission.
Exceptional Writing Skills: Proven ability to write clear, engaging, and grammatically correct content across different formats.
Strong Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable interviewing diverse groups of people, including donors, alumni, and university leadership.
Social Media Savvy: Experience with social media platforms; social media management experience and web publishing is a strong plus.
Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, as some weeknight and weekend hours are required for event coverage.
Organization: Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently. Proven experience in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related storytelling field.
