Job summary

Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School in Sarasota, FL, seeks a Director of Alumni and Community Engagement to cultivate lifelong relationships among alumni, parents, and community partners. The position requires collaboration across Advancement, Communications, Enrollment, Athletics, and campus ministry to strengthen connections and support school initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, nonprofit management, education, advancement, or related field.
• Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and public-speaking skills.
• Willingness to attend evening/weekend events as necessary.
• 3–5 years in alumni relations, advancement, or related field preferred.
• Experience in Catholic education, independent schools, nonprofits, or higher education.
• Knowledge of the Sarasota-Manatee community and regional orgs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy to build lifelong relationships.
• Establish regular opportunities for alumni to reconnect with school, classmates, faculty, and students.
• Recruit and support alumni volunteers and class reps to extend engagement.
• Create opportunities to engage young alumni and graduating seniors before they depart.
• Develop a consistent alumni communications strategy with the Advancement team.
• Identify compelling alumni stories showing lifelong impact of Cardinal Mooney education.
• Develop alumni spotlights highlighting achievement, service, faith, leadership, and connection.
• Serve as Cardinal Mooney ambassador throughout Sarasota and surrounding community.
• Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, civic orgs, parishes, universities.
• Identify opportunities for students, faculty, alumni, and families to participate in community initiatives.
• Represent Cardinal Mooney at community events; collaborate on major alumni events.
• Work with Advancement to foster a culture of engagement and philanthropy.
• Help identify alumni/community members to become more involved.
• Collaborate with Advancement Services to maintain alumni records.
• Develop strategies to update contact, employment, and interests.
• Collaborate with Enrollment, Communications, Athletics, Student Life, Campus Ministry and academics to strengthen ties.
• Other duties as assigned.
