Oshkosh Vocational in Murfreesboro, TN is hiring a Welder I who will interpret blueprints, job cards, BOMs, and routing sheets. The position emphasizes aluminum welding (bench, MIG, TIG), capable handling of precise limits, and reading intricate blueprints for customized orders.

Ideal candidates have MIG welding proficiency, relevant experience, and a willingness to participate in a 6-week aluminum welding training program at Tennessee College of Applied Technology.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more of relevant experience or high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous welding experience is required.
• Proficient in MIG welding demonstrated by an on-site weld skills test.

Responsibilities

• Set up and assemble various components for welding.
• Weld out of position.
• Set up machine for welding and weld aluminum components (bench, MIG, TIG).
• Drill and grind welds and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Follow instructions and communicate with co-workers to ensure safety.
