Job summary

General ThermoDynamics, an API Heat Transfer Company, is seeking experienced Aluminum MIG and TIG Welders to join our Iron Ridge, Wisconsin facility on 2nd Shift. You will MIG/TIG weld aluminum components, read blueprints, and prepare parts for assembly.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of aluminum welding, the ability to read welding symbols and drawings, and strong fabrication skills. We offer shift premium, competitive benefits, and a safe, growth‑oriented manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of aluminum MIG and/or TIG welding experience preferred.
  • Experience welding thin-gauge aluminum materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong fabrication and assembly skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, calipers, tape measures, and other measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum components and assemblies.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, welding specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Fit, position, align, and secure parts prior to welding.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform grinding, finishing, and rework as required.
  • Use measuring devices and inspection tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards.
  • Work closely with supervisors, quality personnel, and production team members to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience.
  • AWS welding certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, welding fumes, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed footwear.
