Job summary

Arconic is seeking a Product Metallurgical Engineer to join the Quality Group in Alcoa, TN. You will lead continuous improvement in process metallurgy for sheet products produced at our Tennessee operations.

The role emphasizes process design, quality systems, and root-cause analysis, with hands-on duties, ISO and IATF compliance, and collaboration across manufacturing and maintenance to deliver reliable, cost-effective performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, or related field from an accredited institution at hire.
  • 3 years’ experience as a Metallurgist in an aluminum manufacturing environment.
  • U.S. work authorization. No visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Translate standards into process design, control plans, FMEA, and work instructions.
  • Develop improvement plans using metallurgy knowledge to reduce cost and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct experiments to optimize processes and products.
  • Determine impact and control for equipment affecting product quality.
  • Improve uptime and equipment reliability while complying with EHS and ISO/IATF standards.
  • Provide day-to-day technical advice and root-cause problem solving for operations.
  • Initiate improvement projects to address safety, quality, and cost concerns.
  • Audit and ensure compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and ISO/IEC 17025.
