Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Furnace Melt Operator for a high-pressure aluminum foundry in Cedarburg, WI. This 1st shift role operates and maintains industrial melting furnaces, charges raw materials, and ensures alloy quality for die-casting cells.

Qualifications

• Career stability with at least 2+ years at each previous employer.
• Experience operating industrial furnaces or heavy manufacturing melts.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math for weighing/counting materials.
• Must live within a 45-minute commute of Cedarburg, WI area.
• High School Diploma or GED; US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Set up, load, and operate industrial melting furnaces with ingot, sows, and scrap.
• Tap furnaces and skim impurities while maintaining temperature and cleanliness.
• Pull and label samples for lab analysis and alloy verification.
• Perform basic furnace maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead hoists to move materials.
• Count, weigh, and record production quantities and attendance/quality data.
• Follow OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, and 5S standards on the shop floor.
