Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a Special Education Teacher to join our team in an engaging school environment. The role involves creating and implementing IEPs, communicating progress to families, and coordinating with staff and therapists to support student success.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's in a relevant field and a Special Education Certificate, with experience in IEP processes.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute IEPs for students in your care.
• Communicate student progress with staff and families.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit for approval.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Use reinforcement techniques to support student progress.
• Invite family members to participate in educational progress.
• Create and distribute quarterly progress reports.
• Coordinate with on-site therapists on behavior issues.
• Maintain a safe, productive classroom environment.

Special Education Teacher Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s Degree in a relevant field
• Shall possess a Special Education Certificate (according to WI Department of Education requirements)
• Shall have experience with IEP writing, meetings etc.

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each of the students in your care
• Communicate with other staff and family members about each student\'s progress and struggles
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit them to administrators for approval
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness
• Invite family members to participate in each student\'s educational progress
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly
• Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment
