Job summary

Iosco RESA is seeking a full-time Teacher to enroll eligible students, perform transcript reviews, and conduct student/parent orientations for grades 6-12.

The role involves developing individualized instruction plans, mentoring students on post-secondary goals, and coordinating with community agencies to provide support services. Strong collaboration with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan secondary teaching certification is required.
• Preference for Science (DX) 6-12 certification.
• Alternative certification paths may be considered with pursuing certification.

Responsibilities

• Enrolling eligible students and conducting transcript analyses.
• Developing and implementing individualized instruction/attendance plans for grades 6-12.
• Mentoring students on post-secondary goals and linking with community referrals as needed.
• Collaborating with school stakeholders and community agencies to provide supportive services.
• Maintaining weekly two-way communication with an assigned student caseload.
• Participating as an educational team member to support all students.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Prefer Science (DX) 6-12 certification
• OR
• Minimum Bachelor Degree with a desire to continue education leading to certification

Experience:

• Prefer three (3) years’ experience, working with Alternative High School Students helpful

Role:

• Enrolling eligible students, completing transcript analysis and student/parent orientations
• Developing and implementing individualized programs of instruction/attendance to meet the needs of students in grades 6-12;
• Mentoring students in determining their post-secondary goals and implementing appropriate strategies and community agency referrals as needed
• Collaborating with school stakeholders and community agencies providing supportive services for students;
• Participating as an educational team member for the success of all students;
• Maintaining and documenting weekly two-way communication with an assigned student caseload;
• Other duties as assigned.
