Job summary

State of North Carolina's Department of Transportation seeks an Engineer III (NS) to lead multidisciplinary teams in the development, implementation, and delivery of Alternative Delivery transportation projects. You will decide on procedures, materials, methods, and construction staging to balance public interest and cost/time considerations.

The role focuses on Design-Build, Express Design-Build Bridges, Progressive Design-Build, Sponsorship, CM/GC, and PPP contracts during pre-construction,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution and four years of progressively responsible experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may apply per posting guidelines.
Professional engineer registration may be required by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver alternative delivery transportation projects.
Make decisions on cost, time, and engineering judgment for project procedures and methods.
Lead Design-Build, Express Design-Build Bridges, Progressive Design-Build, Sponsorship, CM/GC and PPP projects in pre-construction.
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and meet budget and quality expectations.
